How a Simple Surgery Restored a Grandmother's Sight, Independence, and Hope
At Halo Vision, we believe that sight is more than just vision; it's independence, dignity, and the ability to cherish life's simple moments. The story of Agnes Kirito, one of our latest beneficiaries, is a profound testament to this belief and a powerful reminder of the impact your support makes.
For years, Agnes lived a vibrant and purposeful life in her community. Her days were filled with the loving care of her garden, tending to her domestic animals, and being a pillar of support for her grandchildren. She found joy in her independence and strength in her daily routines.
But that world began to dim. After losing sight in one eye due to untreated glaucoma, Agnes relied heavily on her remaining vision. When a blurry haze began to cloud her second eye, a deep fear set in. The abyss of total darkness was closing in, threatening to take away not just her sight, but her ability to care for herself and her family. Her meagre earnings made a proper diagnosis and treatment feel like an impossible dream, leaving her feeling helpless.
Hope arrived in the form of a local medical camp sponsored by Halo Vision. Like so many others, Agnes, assisted by her devoted daughter, made the journey with cautious hope. After a thorough screening, our medical team diagnosed her with a mature cataract that was on the verge of blinding her permanently.

Immediately, our system sprang into action. Agnes was scheduled for a referral to one of our trusted partner hospitals. On Friday, September 12th, 2025, Agnes received her sight-saving cataract surgery, fully sponsored by Halo Vision. The procedure was a success, and the very next day, she was discharged with medication and a new future ahead of her.
The joy and relief were palpable. Her daughter, overwhelmed with gratitude, shared: “We thank God for the miracle of Halo Vision. My mother will now be able to carry out her own small tasks at home and I can focus on my business to help my family. I pray that this great mission expands to help even more needy people.”
