At our recent free medical camp in Ciothirai, Meru County, we met Margaret Gatiria, a joyful 68-year-old mother whose life has gradually been overshadowed by blindness caused by advanced cataracts.
Her vision did not disappear overnight. Over the years, the world around her slowly faded into darkness. A once hardworking and independent woman became dependent on her children—even for simple tasks such as walking around her own compound. The laughter that once filled her home gradually gave way to uncertainty and despair as the family struggled to afford the medical care she desperately needed.

When Halo Vision and our partners organized the free medical camp, Margaret was assisted to the venue carrying one precious thing—hope.
After our eye care team diagnosed advanced cataracts, we immediately referred her to one of our partner hospitals, where she is now undergoing the process that will lead to sight-restoring cataract surgery. For Margaret, this is more than a medical procedure; it is the promise of independence, dignity, and a chance to see her loved ones clearly once again.
Our second story is that of Linet Kendi, a bright 17-year-old whose future has been interrupted by a severe eye condition that has left her with very low vision in both eyes.
Linet should be preparing for college and pursuing her dreams. Instead, her education and daily life have been put on hold because of a condition that requires specialized diagnosis and treatment.

During our free medical camp in Kiburine, Meru County, our team identified her condition and immediately referred her for further investigations and treatment.
Linet reminds us that vision loss is not only a challenge for the elderly. Children and young adults are equally vulnerable to preventable and treatable eye conditions. Regular eye examinations and timely treatment can make the difference between a life limited by blindness and one filled with opportunity.
Margaret and Linet represent just two of the many people we encounter during our outreach programs. Behind every diagnosis is a family longing for hope, and behind every successful treatment is a community transformed.
Your generosity enables Halo Vision to reach vulnerable communities with compassionate eye care, provide life-changing referrals, restore sight, and restore dignity.
We invite you to become part of this mission. No gift is too small. Every contribution helps someone see again, continue their education, earn a living, or regain their independence.
As Jesus reminds us in Luke 6:38:
"Give, and it will be given to you. A good measure, pressed down, shaken together and running over, will be poured into your lap. For with the measure you use, it will be measured to you."
Every coin you give carries hope.
